The Cornwall Sewer Department maintains all Town sewer mains and treats all sewage from those mains for final outflow into Moodna Creek. The Town maintains two wastewater treatment plants on Shore Road and Howard Street which operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Sewer Department is also responsible for septic system approvals and main line hookups.

- Approval of septic systems for new structures as well as redesigned septic systems for existing structures. (Septic Permit Fee is $1,000; Septic Replacement Fee is $350)
- Main line hookups. (Sewer Lateral New is $1,000; Sewer Lateral Repair is $350)
